Sunday Morning Cucumber Lassi












Delicious!












1 Gurke, geschält, entkernt, in grobe Stücke geschnitten
200 ml Gemüsebrühe, sehr kalt
250 ml Joghurt
1 TL Kreuzkümmel, gemahlen
Salz, Pfeffer
etwas Chiliepulver
1 EL Minze, gehackt

Gurkenstücke zusammen mit Brühe und Joghurt mit dem Stabmixer pürieren.

Mit Salz, Pfeffer und Chilie abschmecken. Minzblättchen untermischen und servieren.


1 cucumber, peeled and seeds removed, cut into pieces
200 ml vegetable stock
250 ml yogurt
1 tsp cumin
salt, pepper
ground chili
1 tbsp mint leaves, chopped

Put cucumber, vegetable stock and yogurt into a blender and blend until smooth. Add spices and mint. Serve cold.

Schwein gehabt - Spare Ribs!

Hmmm, I always LOVE ribs! We have been at the White Trash Fast Food recently, and the short beef ribs were sooo delicious, that I wanted to have my own pork ribs on our table.

There they are:
















They went to the oven, and came out about an hour later and landed on our plates:

















Here is the recipe:

Gebratene Rippchen (4 Pers)

2 Zwiebeln

2 Knoblauchzehen

2 EL Rosmarin

1 EL Thymian

1 EL Majoran

1 EL Koriander

4 EL Öl

2 EL scharfer Senf

2 EL Tomatenmark

2 EL Sojasoße

2 EL Honig

Salz, Pfeffer

1000 g Schweinerippchen

Backofen auf 200 Grad vorheizen.

Zwiebel und Knoblauch sehr fein hacken, mit den anderen Zutaten vermischen. 2/3 davon auf die gewaschenen und abgetrockneten Rippchen streichen. Rippchen auf Alufolie legen und dann auf Rost oder Blech im Backofen 1 Stunde braten. Einige Male umdrehen und mit der restlichen Gewürzmischung bestreichen.

Alle Zutaten können auch im Mixer püriert werden. Das geht schnell und ist genauso gut.


Oven Braised Pork Loin Ribs (for 4)

Seasoned with a selection of spices

1 kg pork loin ribs

2 clove(s) garlic

2 onions

2 tbsp rosemary, ground

1 tbsp thyme, ground

1 tbsp marjoram, ground

1 tbsp coriander, ground

4 tbsp oil

2 tbsp mustard

2 tbsp tomato puree

2 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp honey

Preheat oven to 200°C.

Wash and dry ribs, cut them into pieces, each about 2 or 3 bones to a piece.

Put all other ingredients into a blender, pound well and coat the ribs with this mixture. Put the ribs on a roasting tray, place in the oven and bake for about 60 minutes. Turn over a few times and coat with the remaining spice mixture.

Guacamole von Chica














Hmmmm, one of our favorites.

2 ripe avocados

1 small onion, chopped

1 tomato, chopped

2 green chilies, chopped

2 red chilies, chopped

juice of 1 lime

salt, pepper

some cilantro leaves, chopped


Cut each avocado in half, remove the pits and scoop out the pulp into a bowl. Mash with a fork. Add the onion, chillies, tomato and cilantro and stir with a fork until well mixed. Season to taste with lime juice and salt.
Add coriander leaves and serve.
