Recently, the  3 hungry tummies published their great recipe for Gung Phat Pong Gari (fried prawns in curry powder). I would like to cook this dish next week, and today I have already prepared the curry powder.

In Thailand, this dish is usually served with crabs, and unfortunately I am not very good in eating them in an elegant way. Therefore, prawns are a very good option!

Phong Kari

Thai - Currypulver selbst gemacht

2 TL Gewürznelken
5 cm Zimt, ganz
2 TL Fenchelsamen
4 Lorbeerblätter
2 EL Kreuzkümmel
5 EL Koriander
2 TL Kurkuma, gemahlen
2 TL Paprikapulver, rosenscharfes, oder mehr
1 TL Chilies, gemahlen

In Gläser füllen.

Gutes Gelingen!

Phong Kari – Thai curry powder

2 tsp cloves
5 cm cinnamon, whole
2 tsp fennel seeds
4 bay leaves
2 tablespoons cumin
5 tbsp coriander
2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp paprika, hot, or more
1 tsp chilies, ground

Put the first 6 ingredients in a pan. Dry fry on medium heat for about 4 minutes, stir, and be careful not to burn the spices. Allow to cool, grind in a grinder, add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into glasses.

Enjoy!
